Free Furniture Re-upholstered

Furniture is very easy to find for free on Craigslist and you can even pick the style you like so long as you are willing to be diligent and patient.

This re-upholstery project was done in stages over a period of time.

First I found the originally tufted purple chair.  Although I wanted two of this chair, I found only one in that style.  I replaced the old legs with straight legs and seeing that the exposed wood on the sides of the back was worn out, I upholstered it as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

One chair was not enough so I decided to duplicate this chair by creating an identical chair from the left and right chair frames I already had. The result is the 2 identical orange chairs on  the left and right of the fireplace.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I then picked up a pair of the beige chairs and re-upholstered them in gold and teal striped fabric and placed them in the sitting area.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I finally picked up a sofa.  I chose this style of sofa which has removable slipcovered seat and back cushions because it will be easier for this  busy family to keep it clean.   I reupholstered it in a solid durable steel grey fabric and made arm covers for the arm and placed it in the sitting area.
